Our ‘Careers in Sport’ event is specifically for 14 –19 year old students and highlights how a professional sports club operate to achieve success on and off the field. Students engage in interactive workshops in sports business, coaching, media and science.

Sector Specific

Careers in Sport workshops

Our ‘Careers in Sport’ events are specifically for 14 – 19 year old students. Hosted at iconic sports venues, we use the host club as a case study for showcasing the careers in sports business, coaching, media and science.

Students engage in interactive workshops and learn how the departments work together to achieve success on and off the pitch.

Sports Business

The sports business industry is fast-paced and evolving. Attendees gain an overview of the commercial department of the professional sports club and hear about club strategies for fan engagement, product launches, ticketing, marketing and the procedures involved for matchday.

Sports Science

Behind every great sportsperson is a team of scientists supporting them to achieve their best. The workshop offers attendees an overview of the sports science department and hear how psychology, physiology, performance analysis and biomechanics help the athletes to compete at the highest level.


Apprenticeships in sport are growing and this workshop highlights how they can provide young people with a range of vital skills for sport, work and life. Attendees hear more about how apprenticeships work, where they run and how you can get involved!

Sports Coaching

Sports coaches work with toddlers to the elderly, and within grassroots to elite sport. In the sports coaching workshop attendees gain an overview of the coaching department of the professional sports club, from grassroots through to the first team, and participate in a range of activities to develop their own coaching philosophy.

Sports Media

Professional clubs and athletes invest time and resources in social media to promote their brand. Attendees hear how the club use social media platforms to support their commercial growth.

University Options

Studying a degree in sport will open up to a world of exciting career opportunities whether working with professional athletes and clubs, or in community or school settings, It can include roles in coaching, performance analysis, and therapy, as well as event management and the media.
